The Reasons why we clip

  Reasons to clip your horse
• It’s too hot in Florida for a horse to have a fur coat. They can over heat. Realistically we usually only have a handful of days we really need to blanket our horses.
• The hair never really dries. There is always moisture near the skin, which causes skin fungus that you don’t see because of the coat or unless it’s so bad they start scratching themselves raw.
• The horse is more comfortable. Remember they like being cooler than we do.
• It’s easier to groom them.
• They cool down faster after a workout.
• And last but not least, they look prettier than a woolly mammoth.
